At the age of 21 years I completed my degree in Interior Architecture at the Design Academy in The Netherlands but didn’t take up this profession full-time until I moved to Australia, which was in early 1990’s. For the first 10 years my husband and I run ski schools in Austria and Australia. Every 6 months we travelled with approximately 20 ski instructors from ski season to ski season and established an ski instructor exchange program, which became highly successful. The interest in Design came back when some people asked help with the renovations of their ski lodges & commercial accommodation in Persiher Valley, Thredbo and later in Lake Crackenback Resort on the Alpine way. New renovated Holiday accommodation property

The owners, who live overseas, contacted me after they search around for a local Interior Designer which could help them to turn around this 55 yrs property in to a modern and sophisticated house that they can use themselves when visiting Australia but also list it on the holiday market for the remaining of the year. It was very important for them to work with someone who can relate to their vision to transform this rather old home into an attractive coastal home away from home.

What was already a lovely home situated on the foreshore of Narrawallee Beach and close by to the prestige restaurants on Tallwood Ave in Mollymook, this fully self-contained 2-story holiday accommodation needed a make-over to reach its full potential.

Some well-planned redesign to renovate and upgrade key areas of the home along with clever styling and attention to detail has made this home ideally suitable for entertaining in style and comfort, to be enjoyed with family and friends for years to come.

The desired outcome to be achieved for the clients was an interior that meet a consistent standard and quality, depicting a sophisticated Hampton’s look and feel with an air of relaxed coastal style and comfort.

The original kitchen, which was in a very good condition, didn’t fit into the new style and by increasing the footprint of the kitchen, we were able to fit in a new large island bench that maximise the capacity to host either small or larger events when entertaining, improving the functionality overall without compromising on durability or style.
