Renovation of a 2-storey beach house

The owners of the house requested a design that will transform their holiday home into a  sophisticated coastal beach house.

We achieved that by adding a new bathroom/ laundry on the ground floor and revamped the downstairs quest bedroom, which has now become one of the more popular rooms in the house.

The kitchen needed some serious t.l.c. and by introducing a new bench-top, pendant lights and new door/drawer handles, the original kitchen became a feature, without replacing any of the joinery.

On the first floor we made some small changes to the lay-out of the living spaces and replaced the blue paint with a warm white paint colour palette that extended throughout the entire house.  The new palette created instantly a fresh appearance.

Kitsdesign restored a few of the original furniture pieces by sanding the timber back and changing the colour that suits the new interior of the house.

We had a bit of fun with the children room by using the black cross wall stickers.

At the end of the renovation the floor boards were sanded and stained with a clear lacquer and that made a significant change to the original dark floor.

By adding some great designer furniture pieces, upmarket light fittings and stylish decor to all the rooms, this beach-house is now ready to be enjoyed by its owners, friends and family.
